Frequently Asked Questions!

logo leaf new.png

Capacitive touch screens are designed with a remarkable principle that allows them to last indefinitely with proper care and no intentional damage. This means that as long as the screen is commissioned without any issues, it can continue to be used without any worries about its lifespan. While there are no specific regulations regarding the life of these screens, most manufacturers pledge at least 50 million touches before any potential issues may arise. Furthermore, the industry standard warranty period for these touch screens is typically one year, providing peace of mind for any potential concerns during the initial stages of use.

Starting from Windows 7, Microsoft has implemented a drive-free system for newer versions, although the driver still needs to be installed on Windows Home editions. However, for earlier versions of Windows, drivers were required to be loaded manually. These drivers typically only supported single-point touch and required loading for Android and various versions of Linux such as Ubuntu, Debian, SuSE (openSuSE), Fedora Core, Mandriva, and Slackware. Moreover, installing these drivers required cooperation and modifications from motherboard manufacturers to adjust the base parameters.

To provide these drivers and support for different operating systems, our company would need to employ base development engineers. Unfortunately, our current ILITEK solution does not support any operating systems, while our EETI solution can only support single-point touch. Nonetheless, we are committed to continuously improving our technology and exploring new possibilities to offer the best products and services to our customers.

The anti-interference of capacitive touch screens is determined by the design of the SENSOR circuit and control IC. If the design is reasonable and standardized, and the IC is reasonably selected, this situation can be avoided.

Under normal circumstances, the broken line is due to the damage (open circuit and short circuit) of the SENSOR line. Our company has specially added protection to the SENSOR line, preventing this from happening. Touchpoint jumping or mistouch is generally due to the high sensitivity of the touch program, which can be solved by appropriately reducing the sensitivity.

A single capacitive touch screen typically has a program. After the whole machine is assembled, the program will be commissioned, which will be the perfect one.

The thickness of the cover plate is more than 3mm, which is made of toughened glass. After the assembly of the cover glass and the capacitive touch sensor glass, it is anti-burst. The specific anti-burst grade can be adjusted reasonably according to customer requirements.

Our capacitive touch screen is composed as follows: COVER 3mm + glue thickness 0.2 mm + SENSOR 1.1 mm. The thickness of COVER and glue can be increased to improve the anti-burst ability of the screen.

This is mainly due to the following reasons:

 A. the system does not support the screen, and drivers need to be installed;

 B. There is a problem with the wire contact, or the wires are reversely connected;

C. FPC or control board of the capacitive touch screen is damaged.

Special attention should be paid during installation:
1. The minimum installation interval between the capacitive touch screen and the LCD screen is 1MM (after compression). It is recommended to assemble them with non-conductive double-sided foam.
The foam used should be acid-free and non-corrosive.

2.The capacitive touch screen and LCD screen should be placed horizontally before the assembly of the whole machine.

3. The FPC of the capacitive touch screen should be separate from the metal frame.

 This is mainly due to the following reasons:
A. The principle of capacitive touch screens;
B. Other processing (line graphics) can be used in the design stage, which can reduce the touch sensitivity of the back of the screen but cannot eliminate the sensitivity;
C. As long as attention is paid to the distance between the capacitive touch screen and LCD screen during the whole machine assembly. It will be normal in function.

The sensitivity can be adjusted, and the response time of the touch screen is ≤ 10 milliseconds. The system response time can also be adjusted.

The resolution of our capacitive touch screen is 4096*4096. The accuracy of the capacitive touch screen is reflected by the number of channels. The more channels (TX and RX), the smaller they will be. Generally, the channel of the capacitive touch screen is designed according to the size of human fingers, which is usually 4.5 ~ 7.2 mm.

 Our capacitive touch screen can support thick cover glasses (8-10mm). However, thick cover glasses will appropriately reduce the number of channels, which is determined by the working principle of capacitive touch screens.

Yes, and it can support gloved-hand touch. However, it should be explained in advance for our company to consider during the design stage. The cover glass will be treated accordingly.

Our capacitive screens can support 4K LCD screens.

Our company has a full-process production line. In fact, the core of the full process and half process lies in SENSOR design and IC selection. Our company carries out many tests in the production process of products and has a complete set of aging test laboratories to control the product performance strictly.

That’s not true. The number of touchpoints should be adjusted according to the application scenario of the product.

In principle, the more touch points, the more touch data will impact the processing speed of the whole machine. The thicker the cover glass, the fewer the touch points should be.

Our products have gone through tests as follows:
A. High temperature and high humidity: 60 ℃/RH90%, 400Hrs, 80 ℃/RH90%, 240Hrs
B. High and low temperature impact:-30 ℃ ~ 80 ℃, 30mins 400cys
C. High-temperature test: 85 ℃ 100Hrs
D. Low temperature test:-30 ℃ 100Hrs
The parameters of rubber materials used in the production of capacitive touch screens of our company are as follows:
A. Dielectric constant: 2.50 ~ 3.0
B. Detachability: 1.48 ~ 1.52
C. Bonding strength: ≥ 130N/25mm
D. Transmittance: 80-90%

Before customizing a capacitive touch screen, the customer’s information should be provided as follows: application industry, product structure, hardware platform, software system, interface mode, cover glass requirements and anti-burst requirements, touch conductor, etc. The die-sinking period of SENSOR glass is around 20~25 days; the die-sinking period of the COVER glass is around 12~15 days. Depending on the size of the product, the corresponding cost varies.

 Different interfaces of capacitive touch screens have different power consumptions. For USB interface, the power supply is generally 5V; for I2C, it is generally 3.3 V; for serial port, separate power supply is needed (5V power supply)

1. The drift of touch points may be caused by noise interference. Generally, it can be solved by checking noise interference sources and adjusting the program.
2. The touch position is reversed, such as the reversed direction of the X-axis and Y-axis (the wrong set of directions in the original program), solved by adjusting the program.
3. Projected Capacitive touch screen does not need calibration. Generally, after the whole machine is installed, the capacitive touch screen will automatically capture the surrounding electromagnetic environment and automatically save information after running the test program.
For the main and auxiliary screen applications, the same mainframe has two touch screens, and each screen has different functions. However, it is necessary for the solution provider to commission the drivers of the whole machine.
